A Special Issue of Bioanalysis examines the subject of matrix interferences in ligand binding assays (LBA); LBAs are used for the quantification of biotherapeutic protein-derived drugs and biomarkers. This themed issue contains a review, research articles and short communications that describe a variety of strategies to understand and overcome matrix effects in LBAs using different methods or platforms. If matrix effects are not managed, then a robust method cannot result, so this topic is of great importance to bioanalytical chemists.
